Pattern Approval Scheme

The Legal Metrology Department also operates a Pattern Approval Scheme, where all new models of instruments — either imported or manufactured in Uganda—must undergo:

• Type evaluation
• Type approval

This ensures that only approved instruments are used in Legal Metrology applications within the country.
