Management Team
At policy level: The UNBS falls under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC). The minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives appoints the National Standards Council (NSC), a body that is responsible for overall policy guidance of UNBS.
UNBS staff comprises of Scientists, Engineers and Technicians in various disciplines. Of the total number of staff, about three quarters are technical professionals and the rest are support staff.
At management level: Executive Director heads the UNBS. Two heads of Directorates support the Executive Director: Deputy Executive Director Technical Operations (TO) and Deputy Executive Director Mangement Services (MS). These are supported by Departmental Heads who coordinate the operations of UNBS. UNBS management team is comprised of the following:
