UNBS SIGNS MOU WITH CHINA AUTOMOTIVE STANDARDS AND RESEARCH CENTER (CATARC) TO PROMOTE AUTOMOTIVE STANDARDISATION IN E. AFRICA

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with China Automotive Standards and Research Center Co. Ltd (CATARC) during the 2nd Word Automobile Standards and Innovations Conference (WASIC) in Pingshan District, Shenzhen China.
The two entities agreed to collaborate in three key areas;
- Trainings and information sharing in unique topics relating to auto standardization including the VIN and WMI subjects
- Introduction and implementation of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal projects in the field of automotive standardization starting with the ongoing joint project of Sustainable Development through remanufacturing of Automotive parts in East Africa.
- Collaborating with National Mirror Committees of ISO/TC 22 Road Vehicles for the development of ISO standards for auto industry
