5. Men's, women's and children’s leather belts — Specifications

Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) is a parastatal under the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry established under Cap 327, of the Laws of Uganda. UNBS is mandated to co-ordinate the elaboration of standards and is

(a) a member of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and
(b) a contact point for the WHO/FAO Codex Alimentarius Commission on Food Standards, and
(c) the National Enquiry Point on TBT/SPS Agreements of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

11.  Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) through Sub Committee 16 on Water, Alcohol and Beverages (SC 16) under the Food and Agriculture Standards Technical Committee 2 (TC 2) has prepared and enclosed draft, US 1598, Uganda Standard for Spirit-based ready to drink alcoholic beverages — Specification.

The draft Uganda Standard is now being circulated to stakeholders and the general public to give their comments on their suitability for implementation.

The Committee would be glad to receive comments on the Draft Uganda Standards by 19th May 2015. It would also be appropriated if those with no specific comments to make and find the daft standards generally acceptable to notify UNBS. Notification or comments can be sent after being filled in the ballot form attached.

Detailed comments should be provided on a separate sheet of paper identifying the number of the clause to which they refer. Suggestions entailing revision of text should indicate preferred wording.
