PRINCIPAL MARKETING OFFICER VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives mandated to coordinate the elaboration of standards and quality of products and services so as to facilitate fair trade, promote local industries and protect consumers. UNBS is currently looking for a suitable and qualified Ugandan to fill the position of Principal Marketing Officer. He/she will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for the effective marketing of UNBS and her services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a marketing strategy and plan for UNBS,Carry out market research on the effectiveness of UNBS services in order to obtain relevant market information, Administer the implementation of marketing programmes of UNBS, Review and approve marketing materials, brochures and posters and advertise UNBS services, Prepare and monitor marketing budget for UNBS,Monitor the quality of corporate items in conjunction with the public relations division to improve the image of the Bureau, Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A Masters degree in marketing or MBA (Marketing), An Honours degree in B.COM (marketing) or BBA (Marketing) or Equivalent from a reputable university, Possession of a professional qualification in Chartered Institute of Marketers is an added advantage, Must be computer literate in MS word, Excel, Access, internet and PowerPoint, Relevant working experience of at least 5 years in a reputable organization, High integrity, innovative, creative, good communication skills and self driven.
Age: Between 30 and 40 years.

UNBS COUNCIL
The minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC), Hon. Amelia kyambadde inaugurated the National standards council at a function held at UNBS board room on 7th Nov 2011.
